IWWA Ranchi Centre Expresses Gratitude for Support Towards 59th Annual Convention

On behalf of Mr. Umesh Mehta, Chairman; Mr. Pramod Kumar, Honorary Secretary; and Mr. K. K. Verma, COM Member, IWWA Ranchi Centre, we sincerely express our gratitude to Er. Niranjan Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief, DWSD, and Mr. Riyaz Alam, CE, PMU, for their valuable time, guidance, support, and encouragement during our meeting held today at their office. We highly appreciate their positive response and assurance of cooperation towards the successful organisation of the 59th Annual Convention of IWWA, scheduled to be held in January 2027 at BIT Mesra, Ranchi. Their support and encouragement will be instrumental in making this prestigious annual event a grand success. We look forward to their continued guidance and cooperation in the planning and execution of the convention.

Career Opportunities in Water & Wastewater Sector

A workshop on "Career Opportunities in Water & Wastewater Sector" was successfully organized today jointly by IWWA Ranchi Centre and University Polytechnic, BIT Mesra, Ranchi. A total of 92 polytechnic students from different disciplines and years participated along with IWWA members. The programme began with a brief introduction about IWWA, the Student Chapter and the upcoming 59th Annual Convention at Ranchi. Both sessions were interactive and students actively discussed qualifications, skills and future opportunities in the water sector. Overall, the programme was very successful and helped motivate students towards professional engagement with the water sector and IWWA.

Celebration of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2025

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the IWWA Ranchi Centre organized a meaningful event at Morhabadi Ground. The program began with a warm welcome by Er. Umesh Mehta, Chairman of IWWA Ranchi Centre, who greeted our Chief Guest, Dr. M. L. Agrawal, President of IWWA, with a bouquet. Sri Mast Ram Meena, IAS, Principal Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Government of Jharkhand, also graced the occasion with his presence. Following this, an awareness rally was organized, during which members marched around the ground carrying banners and chanting slogans to spread the message of environmental awareness. As part of the ongoing campaign against plastic pollution, 500 specially designed jute bags were distributed among the public and participants. Afterward, all participants took part in a collective cleanliness drive, picking up plastic bottles and other plastic waste from the ground, setting an example of environmental responsibility. The program concluded with a discussion on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution,” highlighting the importance of reducing plastic usage. A formal vote of thanks was extended to all attendees, with special gratitude expressed to our President, Dr. Agrawal, for his gracious presence and active participation.

Celebration of World Water Day by Ranchi Centre

World Water Day was celebrated by the Indian Water Works Association (IWWA), Ranchi Centre, at VISWA Hall, Kanke Road, Ranchi, with great enthusiasm. The event began with a welcome address by Er. Umesh Mehta, Chairman of IWWA Ranchi Centre, who greeted all the members and dignitaries. A technical presentation on the theme "Glacier Preservation" was delivered by Dr. Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, through an engaging PowerPoint session, highlighting the importance and urgency of glacier preservation. Following this, the Annual General Body Meeting was held, during which the election of office bearers for the Managing Committee (2025–2027) took place. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and all attendees enjoyed a corporate lunch, marking the successful culmination of the celebration.
